As part of the renowned Clauberg Group, Michael Clauberg GmbH and Lauterjung & Tesche GmbH combine over 220 years of expertise in abrasive technology. As family-run companies with roots dating back to 1801, we stand for the highest quality standards and innovative solutions in the high-end segment.
Michael Clauberg GmbH, founded in 1966 in Wuppertal-Cronenberg, has established itself as a specialist in customized abrasives. Lauterjung & Tesche GmbH looks back on an even longer tradition – the Ernst F. Tesche company was founded in Wuppertal in 1801 and merged with Carl Lauterjung Schleifmittelfabrik (founded in Solingen in 1896) to form today’s Lauterjung & Tesche GmbH.
Together, we manufacture high-end abrasives in all sizes and bonds – from epoxy resin and synthetic resin bonds to ceramics and magnesite grinding wheels with diameters of up to 2000 mm. Our products are used worldwide in the most demanding industries, with over 40% of our production being exported.
With our location in Wuppertal-Sonnborn, we combine Bergisch tradition with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology and are continuously creating new jobs in the region.

Company history
The companies in the Clauberg group are medium sized, owner-operated family businesses, which with the Wuppertal companies Michael Clauberg Schleifmittelfabrik GmbH and Lauterjung & Tesche Schleifmittelfabrik GmbH, as well as the Leonberg company Dorfner Schleifmittelwerk GmbH, form a small and strong family group.
